Affected By Polio. Weakness In Leg. How Can We Help Her With Walking?

hello doctor , am baljit from punjab . actualt i want to know about polio.
though am also in medical field.

my question is this can a person who is affected from polio in left leg n now that leg is become too weak n bone is not straight n also bone is not like normal adult
is their any procedure which can move the patient just normal person.

pt. is able to walk but she can,t walk in standing position , she moves in sit position only , can u help

Polio causes significant neurological damage of the lower limbs. The weakness is permanent and irreversible. However rehabilitation can offer some amelioration in .

Though surgery may be able to correct some deformities, it cannot restore the neurologic damage. Orthopedic prostheses can help the person gain some limited independent support but not without.

The best way to fight polio and its damaging consequences is through vaccination. Though it is no longer useful to the affected, please consider getting all those you can correctly vaccinated against polio and this will be a war that we can win.
