After Falling On My Tailbone At The Gym, My Toes

After falling on my tailbone at the gym, My toes on my left foot turned white and went numb. Now, two days later, I am still in pain. The pain does subside with ibuprofen and rest. Is the numbness a concern? How long should I expect to be in pain? Also, do you recommend hot or cold compress?
