hi there, as your mother in law was premenopausal, post BSO her ovaries have been removed due to which there is no hormonal production in her body and so she is experiencing all the symptoms of post menopause. Hot flushes, bloatedness and sleep disturbances are a few common ones.Sitting cross legged should not be due to the surgery but rather to decreased flexibility due to inactivity and taking up yoga or some sort of stretching exercises may help. She should visit her gynecologist and take advise about hormone replacemnet therapy which may be good in the long run. Take care.
