Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking Ciprofloxacin 500 MG. I had an allergic reaction to it (red itch blotchy spots all over my arms, back, neck, thighs)... I am not taking any other medication. I don't have any history of anything else. I am 30 years old. My doctor told me to take a Benadryl. Is this ok or is this a dangerous combination? Please advise. thank you.
If you are asking if there exist any interactions between benadryl (Diphenhydramine) and ciprofloxacine, then the answer is there is no known adverse interactions between the two medications. Benadryl is an antihistamine medication that is used to treat allergic reactions. The answer to your question is, YES there are totally safe to use both.
Hope this helps
