Hi,

Dermabond contains 2-octyl cyanoacrylate which is a sterile, liquid skin adhesive used to maintain skin approximation after surgery. It is also known as skin glue or surgical glue. The liquid will harden immediately upon application and usually remains intact for 5-7 days after the procedure. Dermabond can cause redness, swelling, pain, thermal discomfort, infection, symptoms of a serious allergic reactions such as rashes, itching, swelling of lips, tongue or throats, breathing difficulties etc., as its side effects.

Again, opioid analgesics like oxycodone may develop such type of allergic reactions. Even, anything used during the surgery may also cause allergic reactions. Steroid is the treatment of choice in this regards. If his side effects persist for long or bother him, then the doctor should be informed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
