Almost Two Years Ago I Was Seen By An Ophthalmologist

Almost two years ago I was seen by an ophthalmologist due to pain in my left eye. He diagnosed me with “ocular surface disease” and “dry eye”. Since then, I lubricate my eyes on a consistent basis. The pain has gotten worse and I’ve lost vision. I decided to take a picture (see attached) of my left eye to see if anything looked out of the ordinary. To me, this picture looks as if there is a coating “growing” on my Iris. Is this normal? I have a history of high blood pressure (diastolic) and I was diagnosed with having a “connective tissue disease” (which could mean a number of autoimmune diseases). Any information is greatly appreciated.
