My coworker was out with strep throat and I have become ill myself. I'm insure if its the flu or strep throat. My throat is sore. I have ear drainage, nasal decongestion, and a cough. My lymph nodes are swollen. What makes me wonder whether or not its the flu is my achy joints.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having bacterial throat infection giving rise to ear infection as well.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course like Azithromicin for 5 days.
Take decongestant and NSAID medicine for 2-3 days.
Clean the ear and put antibiotic ear drops.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
