Am I Likely To Be Diagnosed With Asthma After Having Had The Lungs On Bronchodilator?

I had a pulmonary function test and my doctor called me back and said that my lung capacity was normal but my lung function improved a little bit after given the bronchodilator. He said that wasn't enough to give me the diagnosis of asthma. why is this?
