Am Pregnant. Had Light Bleeding. On Proluton. HCG Test Shows Failed Pregnancy. Should I Do D&C Or Wait?

I am currently 7 weeks and 3 days, I had light bleeding around 2 weeks back for about 5 to 10 mins and after that I was on proluton depot 500mg injection (prescribed weekly), progesterone 200 mg twice daily. Doctor could not see only an empty sac last week i.e. on 19th June and asked me to get Beta HCG tests done to confirm failed pregnancy. Today my reading came which were as follows 19th June was 0000 and after exactly 48 hours it was 0000. A falling HCG, yet a high HCG. Please suggest. Do it mean I should not wait any longer and go for DNC

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Well, it is a tough decision to take and I believe you should go through with your doctor's own suggestion. Your doctor might decide to wait a little and redo a pelvic scan.
Normally when laboratory tests and pelvic ultrasound already show a failed pregnancy, D&C is the option to take in order to prevent any future complications such as bleeding. Personally I will wait for say 1-2 weeks then redo a pelvic scan just to be sure that the pregnancy has actually failed.
So, please discuss this issue with your doctor first.
