Inquiry for my blood sugar I was diagnosed eight months ago with diabetes. I am taking metformin 500mg 3x a day previously and after six months i reduced it for two. Now my usual blood glocuse in the morning as random is between 120-130mg/dl. Is this frequency for twice a day is appropriate based on my doctors recommendation? Please advise. Thank you.
dear sir I understand your concern.in my opinion and as per the data provided by you.i can say that you are doing fine.the dose is good.but kindly check your hba1c to confirm that reducing medication is justifiable.the Hba1c goal for you should be below 7% ok.since your diabetes is in early stages I guess that fasting, its after 2 hrs sugar test will give you better information.so kindly check your after food blood sugar also. in diabetes it's always Better to reduce medication and focus more on diet and exercise. even with good diet and exercise if your sugars are not good the we should be planning to upgrade the medication. hope this information helped you kindly rate my answer if you feet it worthy Dr Vamsi krishna Diabetologist
