An ARNP for my Mom insist that only an injectable antibiotic will help? Mom does not a have a history of getting UTIs with any frequency. She has no symptoms identified in your educational materials and seems happy and normal. However, the ARNP says she ran a culture on a urine sample and that the offending bacteria can only be treated with twice a day injections for 5 days. What kind of bacteria onl;y responds to injected antibiotics? Mom is 92 and very healthy physically although she has suffered from Alzheimer's disease for over a decade.
