An elderly trusted friend in India is requesting financial help to cover the expenses of medications being recommended in lieu of cataract surgery. (She is 85 y.o. and has been told years ago that she has myasthenia gravis; definitely she has arthritis and weakness, difficulty walking, and difficulty hearing and seeing. She can bathe and do her own toileting daily, but mostly sits and guides grandchildren with their English language homework.
So here is the list, and what I know and don't know;
Augmentin 625 mg twice a week (antibiotic: is this like a maintenance dose?)
Pantakind (proton inhibitor for acid indigestion)
Eye drop Tropicasyl daily for 2 months (pupil dilator - specifically to avoid urgent need for cataract surgery?)
Eye drop: CXM daily for two months (can't find this on line)
Eye drop Renolen - daily for 1 month (what is this for?)
Tonic B-29 liquid, I'm sure basic nutrition supplement, esp. B vitamins.
Q: What about this plan? And any questions about the wisdom of it? thanks. Linda G.
