Ants Bitten, I Am Dual Transplant Recipient, Swollen, Itchy, Burning, Applied Baking Soda. Can Use Benedryl?

While working in the yard, I got bitten by many fire ants. I am considering getting some benedryl to take and not sure if it s safe because of all my immune suppressed medications. I am a dual transplant recipient. ( Liver-2002 and Kidney-2003). Where I got the ant bits is swollen, itching and burning. My wife put a paste of baking soda and water which relieved the burning for a while. Is it OK for me to take some benedryl ?
