Any Feedback For Omperaole And How Long Its Been Used?
Hi there, Im enquiring about the drug - Omperaole - do you know how long its being used ? It is a relatively new drug (also looking for the pharmacokinetics please if you can advise of a good website where I can find out this info) Thank you Lorraine
Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and has been around for at least 20 years. It inhibits the stomach cells from secretion of acid into the stomach by inhibiting (turning off) a chemical pump Hydrogen/potassium ATPase in a certain type of stomach cell. It is one of the most common medications prescribed all over the world and is first line treatment for gestroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is also used to treat gastritis and duodenitis as stomach and duodenal ulcers. Website: http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/consumers/cmi/l/losecAndLosecExtra.pdf
