Any Ideas About Painful Inside Of The Elbow After Iv Insertion For 4 Days?

hi i had an emergency c section just over 2 weeks ago i had an iv inserted on the front of my elbow for the ga to go in and it was there fro 3 days for medicine to go in. 4 days after that my arm got pain and now swollen on the inside of my elbow it is getting more painful every day what can this be

Hi,
I understand your concerns. The pain could be due to infection at the area of the insertion . I will advise you to get the intravenous catheter removed immediately and placed in a different location like the other arm if at all needed. Feel free to ask us further queries.
