Hi I had knee injury during an injury when i was in 11th standard and now its been 7 years to that but still i got injured in the same knee thrice since then which results in pain and swelling. The doctor says that it is ligament tear. Is there any cure for it other than surgery.
Hi, Knee injury 7 yrs back + repeated injuries since then. What type of injury was? the diagnosis depends on this answer. If it was twisting injury as in sports injuries, then it is most probably a case of meniscal tear which gives on and off pain with locking of the joint.
If it was a direct impact from front , then it may be a case of ACL tear .Not all ACL tears need to be operated but it needs assessment as to how bad is it.If clinically confirmed , then an MRI scan may be needed to further confirm the diagnosis . If tear is minimal , exercises itself may be enough to relieve u off your pain. ( close chain and open chain exercises )
