What Causes Tingling And Numbness In Feet While Sitting?
Hello. I am a 35-year-old female. I started noticing that my feet tingle and go numb when I sit down about 4 months ago. It began with my long daily commute to work and now extended to sitting down on any surface. I can't cross my legs comfortably. In my day job I often have to hunch over patients and occasionally help lift them. I am also an advanced ballet dancer who goes to the gym and take kickboxing. I think the tingling started around the same time I began kickboxing. I do have long-standing knee and ankle injuries that have been hurting quite badly in the past month or so. I have stopped the boxing classes and go easy in the gym. X-rays of cervical spine and MRI of lumbar spine showed everything is fine.So why do the tingling and numbness persist? What can be done about it? Thank you so much for your help.
Hello, thank you for your question. Since the results of spine xray and MRI are normal , the next more common medical condition that may cause your problem is Diabetes , by damaging the peripherical nerves of the foot. So I would check you blood sugar and all other tests for Diabetes. Other rare disease might be multiple mieloma or bilateral piriformis syndrome , but that the gives this simptoms when sitting with leg crossing nore than walking. i hope this answer will help you.
