General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most likely bacterial infection of the gut, as a viral episode, subsides by 3-4 days.

He must undertake a stool culture for antibiotic susceptibility and must be treated in accordance with that, as the issue here is sounding possible antibiotic resistance to the current regimen.

His hydration must be maintained with oral rehydration salt, homemade fresh curd and yogurt will provide GI with lactobacillus best agents for the fastest recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
