Any Suggestion For Dry Cough?

Hi Doctor,

My friend got sick simce 12th March 2014. He has dry coughs since 12th March. He went see a doctor and he prescribed AZAX-500
and LCZ-Mont but no cough syrup. Actually he is not improving, in fact he is getting these coughs more frequently, he is not able to sleep at night,

Could you please advise

Hi and welcome to HCM.

Azax 500 contains azithromycin which is good antibiotic for upper respiratory tract infection. You have to continue this tablet

LCZ Mont is a potent antihistamine (levocetrizine) which is used in allergic conditions causing cough. It is good in preventing allergic rhinitis.

Syrup Corex 2tsp three times daily can be used and it should be taken only if dry cough is there. It may induce mild sleep and better to avoid machinery work and driving.

Avoid dust exposure
