Any Suggestion For Having Sore Throat, Spitting Yellowish/green Phlegm?
hi - i have a very sore throat, lost my voice and only have about 15% of it left. I have swollen glands around my neck and a moderately stuffed nose. My ears feel itchy and are also congested. When I spit up phlegm, its yellowish/green. Do I require antibx?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat, spitting yellowish/green phlegm which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection/flu. Leftover respiratory tract infection is spreading to ears as well and causing congestion. It could be bacterial infection by strep leading to strep throat. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles. You should take throat lozenges. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. You should take antibiotic Amoxicillin in combination with antiallergic medicationLevocetirizine. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray and throat swab test done along with routine blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
