Aortic Valve Replacement, Feels Dizzy, Loss Of Balance, Mri Of Brain Negative, Blood Infection
Hi, My mother is 78 years old. She had 2 month ago aorthal valve replacement . She is very dizzy and has a loss of balance. She had an MRI of the brain done, it was negative. She had to stay at the hospital for 2 month due to a blood infection from a pick line. Your opinion regarding her management will be appreciated. Best, Alice.
Her neurological symptoms are due to decreased blood supply to various parts of the brain. the septic complications need to be treated aggressively in view of the fact that she has undergone valve replacement surgery. A long term course of oral antibiotics is necessary. A neurological opinion to assess the exact level of deficit is a must. this can help in initiating appropriate neurological treatment.
HI WITH THE VALUE REPLACEMENT TREATMENT THE DISORDER OF DIZZINESS IS VERY COMMON IN POST OP HISTORY. THIS ISSUE WILL BE SETTLED DOWN WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME . AND THERE IS A PROPER MEDICINE FOR THIS DIZZINESS CONTROL. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR CARDIOLOGIST ABOUT THIS ISSUE . REGARDS.
