Appendectomy Done Weeks Ago. Hard Lump Bellow Belly Button. Stitch Coming Out. No Infection. Suggestions?
I had an appendectomy four weeks ago. I have a hard lump below my belly button. It doesn't seem like it has gotten any bigger but it is tender to touch. I do not have staples and I do have a tiny bit of stitch coming out. But it is not where the lump is. The skin is not discolored and there is no pus. Should I worry about this?
The lump is not growing in size, it is not tender to touch, You have no fever and there is no collection of pus. It may be a lipoma that you may be noticing of the surgery. It may be a omental fold. Omentum is the first line of defence in the peritoneal cavity and in engulfs the area of inflammation. To make a definitive diagnosis ultrasound of the abdomen will help.
