Appendix Removed, Severe Pain And Discomfort In Abdomen. Ultrasound Scan, Tests Normal. Healing Time?
How long does it take for you to recover after getting your appendix removed? I still get pain and discomfort.... i went to go see my surgeon and he ran a few tests but they found nothing, got a scan and ultra-sound done but nothing was found? I still get discomfort and it makes me ill sometimes what could it be? Am i still healing?????
Usually it takes few days after appendix removal for the pain to go away. After a week there should be no pain at all. If after that time the pain is still present, either there are some complication after the surgery (like an abscess or wound infection) or it was not the appendix causing your pain. It is quite common (this is not a doctors mistake). You should have abdominal ultrasound, blood work, CRP, urine analysis and transvaginal ultrasound performed to find the reason of your pains.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
