Are Amoxilin And Pantoprazole Effective In Treatment Of H Pylori?

Hi, I have H. pilory and my dr. prescribed me: amoxilin 500 mg 2 caps.4xday,, and also pantoprazole 40mg 1tabl. 4xday for 2 wks..I have removed gall blader and have a problem with medication..I heard from some people that this doesn't eliminate H.pilory ..

Generally the prescribed drugs for eliminating Helicobacter pylori from your stomach are Amoxicillin and Omeprazole together for two weeks. Metronidazole may be added as a third drug in this therapy.

Sometimes another scheme may be used by your doctor. He may combine
Clarithromycin, omeprazole and Metronidazole for two weeks.

As I mentioned above two kind of antibiotics and one PPI (proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole) are used to treat H.Pylori. Effectiveness is 90% in most of the patients.

This therapy may give side effects so talk to your treatment doctor if it happens.
