Are BP Of 144/76 And Pulse Of 50 Bpm Normal?

Hi I am taking bisoprolol 3.75mgs for cardiac arrhythmia and lisinopril for hypertension. My bp was recorded last week at 192/88...and my lisinopril was increased to 5 mgs from 2.5 mgs. I have taken my bp daily and it is 144/76 today . My concern is that my pulse rate is only 50bpm...I have no symptoms. Is this acceptable. I think my increased bp is due to some stress we have had in the family over the last couple of months . Thank you

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Stress can affect the blood pressure but you should still continue the medication till your doctor suggests otherwise.

In terms of the pulse , the normal pulse rate is 60 to 100 but persons who are fit may have pulse rate below this. It occurs because their hearts are beating more efficiently.

If you are very physically active, this could be the reason for your slow pulse rate.
If you are not physically active and you are having symptoms related to this pulse rate (dizziness, feeling weak , clammy, sweating, fainting etc), then you should be seen.

IF you are not having any symptoms, then you can consider monitoring unless you are still concerned.

I hope this helps
