Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have undergone a CT scan and it is showing lessons in it but we don't know whether these lessons are infective, malignant (tumor), reactionary or simply gliosis. To define a soft lesion well, you need an MRI. Contrast helps to delineate the lesion well and gives knowledge about it's vascularity, whether tumor will bleed more intraoperatively and other tumoral characteristics. Regarding risks involved, some persons may be allergic to dye and these dyes may be toxic to kidney. So before going through the procedure, you shouldn't have any history of allergic reaction to any drugs and get your kidney function tests done.

Hope my answer would be helpful to you.
