Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, I want to know about Ciffran tablets. My mother has a tooth infection, her tooth muscles are swollen up. Can she take Ciffran tablets for curing that infection. Just to inform you, she is a kidney patient and undergoing hemodialysis, will this medicine have any side effects on her.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your query Cifran contains active ingredient Ciprofloxacin which can be given with caution to Kidney patients and you should immediately consult her treating physician who can do a serum drug analysis if required and alter the dose of the medication so that she can take it without any adverse effect.. You should not give her any antibiotic without consulting her treating physician.. Although as she is already undergoing hemodialysis, the drug will be excreted out of the body and you need not to worry..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
