General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Decapeptide is a hormonal medicine which acts to stop the secretion of female sex hormone Estrogen(this hormone stimulates the growth of endometriosis).

So the remains endometrial tissue deprived of estrogen shrinks & stops growing.

Thus taking the I section is just cutting root of the disease. Though not compulsory, should be taken if advised by treating gynecologist (As there are other ways to treat).

This is the one chosen by your doctor, who knows your health in details.

As the secretion of estrogen stops... gradually there is artificial menopause & menses stop temporarily till the therapy is on.

I don' t think you need IUD(unless it is hormone inbuilt). Bleeding you have can be a temporary side effect of the injection OR the hormone inbuilt IUD.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
