Good day doctor My boyfriend had a tape worm in his brains and this was discovered after he was in coma for 3 days and list of tests were done including brain scans, he was the treated with antibiotics to kill the parasites. After that he had endless list of medical problems the recent one he had joundice which was caused by Hepatitis B according to the Specialist Physician he is attending. When we went there with his full medical history (referral letter from another doctor), he explained that he will put him on treatment that is usually used on HIV positive people and that he has to come collect it the next day. He came back with Antiretrovirals (Efivarenz and Tenofovir) he is HIV negative. I know TDF is usally used in coinfection cases (HIV + Hep B) and EFV in HIV+ patients with TB or previously had TB or cancer etc. Can you please explain I do not understand
