Hello doctor...... My first trimester has ended..... My doctor adviced me to take gemcal mom tablets(elemnt cal. 250mg n vit d3 200IU) . Is it safe for my baby? Plz help me n give me propr advise on ths.... M so confused as i hv read so many side effects of ths on the site.....
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about drug side effects.
As the drug you are prescribed comes under category C that means there is no effects seen on human fetus but animals have been affected.
These type of drugs can be taken in second or third trimester of pregnancy but under the control of Gynecologist. If the doctor has prescribed you, there is no problem because some times it is more important to take little risk for a better results.
You can take it for small amount of time as prescribed by your Gynecologist as per my opinion.
Hope my answer will help you and write to us if you feel any further assistance is needed.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
