Hi, I am experiencing fatigue fever headache body ache. I went to my doctor yesterday and he said I have viral and a sinus infection. I am taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol but it does not seem to be dropping my fever, Or helping me with my pain, do I need to go back into the hospital Or continue to do what I m doing?
Hello! I have been through your question. Related your symptom, I think this is acute sinus infection caused by a virus infection.Sinusitis may be classified based on its duration (acute, subacute, or chronic) and the type of inflammation (either infectious or noninfectious). Acute sinus infection as you have could have two forms, sinusitis caused by virus infection ( simple sinus infection) that it is recommend to use a decongestant and saline nasal washes, ibuprofen and bacterial sinus infection associated with fever, facial pain, pus-like discharges, symptoms that persist for longer than a week and that are not responding to nasal medications. Bacterial sinusitis is usually treated with antibiotics. What i suggest for you is to see if this situation last more than 4 days under the nasal medications and after you should go back to the hospital to meet your doctor, doing a physical examination and starting antibiotic (amoxicillin, augmentin if you aren't allergic). I hope my answer help you. I wish a quick recovery.
Hi as per your question take these medications as prescribed by doctors But in my opinion add antibiotics {AB-cef-200 mg twice a day for 7 days] You have viral infection with seconadry bacterial infection. Thanks
