Are Immoduim And Flagyl Plus Advisable For Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain?

I am having diarrhea with light abdominal pain since yesterday morning not so frequent 4-5 stools up till now feeling fevery and fatigued. Just taken dose of immoduim 2 cap. 2mg strt dose plus flagyl 400mg. Is this right prescription? How long I continue this? Thanks sir.

Hi,

It is not advisable to take Imodium while on Flagyl for diarrhea. Taking Imodium while on Flagyl can cause serious and potentially fatal complications such as irregular heart rhythm and cardiac arrest. You may continue taking Flagyl 400mg alone for at least 7 days for the treatment of infective diarrhea. I also advise you to take oral re-hydration solution like electral for dehydration.
