Are Montelukast And Azithromycin The Right Medication For Cough?

I have a tickle-like in my throat that causes me to cough constantly. My doctor prescribed Montelukast 10 mg. tab, then Azithromycin 250 mg tab - these have not worked. Once before I was given a prescription pill for cough that looked like a vitamin E. I need the name of that so I can tell my doctor what worked! Thanks so much.

Hi,

Vitamin E has not a much-proven role in humans and most of the cold is allergic so Montelukast works. Azithromycin is given as a secondary cover. You can try antihistamines also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita,
