Are Morning-After Pills Taken 6 Hours Apart Sufficient Dosage To Prevent Pregnancy?

Hi ,I took bought this morning after pill and it had two pills , instructions were to take the second pill 12 hours later.i took the first one at six pm. But then today woke up late and took the second one six hours later.so am really worried and I was asking should I buy another morning after pill ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
No it would not be neccesary to buy more pills in your case. The 2nd dose you took earlier would be sufficient to prevent pregnancy. Morning after pill or emergency contraceptive pill is available as two dose system as well as single dose.
The two dose system consists of two tablet each containing levonorgestrol 0.75mg. First dose should be taken as soon as possible after sex & second dose should be taken 12 hours later. However as you took the 2nd tablet earlier would not count as missed dosage. It would however cause the drug to become at high dose & is susceptible to more side effects. More dose is not advised.
Use condom or regular contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy in future. They are more effective in preventing pregnancy as well as has less side effects.
