Twice been in hospital with terrible inflammation of colon. They constantly try things at home that interfere. Is probiotics the answer?? don flack
For ulcerative colitis, probiotics are needed because free taking antibiotics dose probiotics should be taken to restore normal colon flora for digestion. Otherwise, take plenty of amount of dietary fiber in food. Don't eat spicily and junk food.

Are Probiotics Advisable For Severe Ulcer Colitis?
Hello, Yes, probiotics may help to lessen the symptoms of colitis. But sir/madam, do understand this will not help him ultimately. If he is already diagnosed with this disease, please take a visit with a doctor to get advised specially drug prescriptions. There are plenty of treatments available. First, he should be assessed how severe the disease is within him and the treatment plan has to be made. Dietary fibers are good and if he became anemic, he can also take iron supplements. Anyway, the treatment should be taken very seriously. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
