Hi there, I am 11 & a half weeks pregnant. I have been prescribed Stilpane tablets for a severe sinus infection. I have taken 2 tonight but am concerned that it may harm my baby. How safe is 2 tablets? Panado was not touching sides and I was desperate for relief. I m now worried....
Stilpane is not safe during pregnancy. It is a combination of paracetamol, codeine, meprobamate and caffeine. Codeine and meprobamate can cause fetal harm. Better safe medicines are available for sinus infection. Advice 1. Stop Stilpane immediately 2. Levocetirizine 5 mg daily for 3 days 3. Amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hours for 5 days 4. Gargle with slightly warm salt water every 6 hours Thanks
