Are Synthroid 75, Lexapro 20, Inderal 120, Valium 5, Ambien 10, Wellbutrin 150 Right Treatments For Graves Disease, Depression, Anxiety, Memory Loss?
i have graves disease. i have trouble with depression and anzieity, memory. have had thoughts of suicide. my thyroid levels are fine. i am currently taking synthroid 75, lexapro 20, inderal er 120, valium 5, ambien 10 every day or night. i have just been prescribed wellbutrin sr 150. am i on the right treatments? thank you.
Well your drug regime for underlying anxiety , depression and Graves disease does not seem to be appropriate.
First and foremost you have bee diagnosed with Graves disease which is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism meaning that it results in increased levels of thyroid hormones in the body so the right drug for this disorder is anti-thyroid drug such as propylthiouracil or methimazole but instead of this you are taking synthroid which is a thyroid hormone supplement that is used in Hypothyroidism that is a condition which is opposite of what you are having where the thyroid hormones are produced in an amount which is less than is required. So in a way you are taking a drug namely synthroid which is not meant for Graves disease but for a condition opposite of that. So i urge you to get this discussed with your doctor and get the drug changed.
Also there is no need for use of ambien when a stronger drug like valium is being produced as anyways in the presence of valium effect of ambien will be overshadowed.
Lastly use of wellbutrin sr at this moment looks redundant since you have lexapro as a chief anti anti depressant to take care of anxiety and depression, so use of wellbutrin sr can be halted for a while.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
