I am a 57 year old white male with a long standing diagnosis hypogonadism, low testosterone. My serum testosterone levels been 179mg/dl, then bumped a bit to 273 with treatment. My original symptoms included loss of muscle mass, exercise intolerance, erectile dysfunction, anemia, day-time sleepiness and situational depression. I also have benign prostatic hypertrophy which causes me to have a weak urine stream, some urinary frequency and hesitancy. The BPH is tolerable but annoying. My primary care doctor prescribes testosterone cypionate 200mg/cc injectable solution for me to self-inject, which is not a problem. The dose is what this doctor gives routinely , 50mg (.25cc) injected once every two weeks. It helps a little bit but is too small and too infrequent, in my opinion. The shot seems slightly beneficial but quickly wears off and my testosterone levels increase slightly from 170 s to 270 s but never really get into normal range. Ive had workup for other endocrine problems, pituitary tumors etc all negative. My PSA levels have been low and stayed low and prostate exam are consistent w/ enlargement w/o evidence of cancer. I believe I simply need a higher more frequent dosing regimen for the testosterone cypionate. Can I get that through your service? What are the risks? What is cost? How would I do that?
