Are Ultracet, Nurokind Plus And Rabekind DSR Advisable For Pain In Waist And Hip?

Hello doctor.. My mother (65yrs) having pain in waist and hip area for last one year. She is not able to walk. Even after talking prescribed medicines, she is pain free only for some times, then still pain continues. Please tell if the following medicines enough and relevant. ultracet, indocap SR, nurokind plus, rabekind DSR. Thanks

Hello. Good day. Thanks for writing to HCM. I am Dr Sarika and I will be answering your query today.
The medications you are taking - ultracet and indocap are pain medications. Neurokind plus is a vitamin and rabekind dsr is an antiulcer medication. In an elderly post menopausal woman with waist and hip area pain, the cause needs to be ascertained and accordingly treated. The treatment you are taking may give you symptomatic relief but will recur when its stopped. The common causes of pain in this age group are lumbar spondylosis, lumbar disc prolapse and hip arthritis. Please do an MRI of the lumbar spine and the hip if the X-ray of the area is unyielding a diagnosis.
