Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern.
daily we will be having similar young age patients coming to us with diabetes.
We suggest them to go for diet and exercise
Because with out them there is no treatment in diabetes.
But as your sugars are slightly high i suggest you to start some safe basal insulin for 10 days and shift to mild medications like metformin after controlling of diabetes.
There are three drugs in your prescription
they are
1.glimipride and metformin---gluconorm g2
2.voglibose-----voglimac.
in my patients who are young and nely diabetes we will not start triple drug therapy.
rather we always try to keep medications low and stress more on life style changes which will give long term benefits.
Taking insulin for first 10 days will recovery your beta cells from damage and help them to last longer.
taking insulin for just 10 days is a very safe and have no side effects since insulin is a natural hormone.
consult a Diabeteologist/endocrinologist for further clarifications and dosage
