Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Abdominal Cramps And Diarrhea Symptoms Of A Stomach Infection?
My husband has been complaining of abdominal pain/cramping for the last 3 days. The onset was sudden. It came out of nowhere. The pain is located in the dead center of the upper abdomen. He is healthy as a horse and generally does not get sick. I became concerned when it passes the 48 hour mark. He is also experiencing diarrhea and cold chills. Could this possibly just be a gi bug that has held on longer than usual? At what point should I get him to a doctor? My husband experiences crippling anxiety in medical environments, so i want to make sure it is absolutely necessary before seeking medical attention, as it could cause some fairly serious physical symptoms related to his anxiety simply by seeing a doctor. Thank you in advance. -Jessica
