Are Abdominal Cramps Post Menstruation Indicative Of PID?

Hello, I was diagnosed with chlamydia about a month ago. I had no symptoms at all and was only infected for a few weeks. I took the antibiotics as directed. On the week of my period a few weeks later I started getting cramps. I thought they were just period cramps but it has been a couple days since my period ended and they are still here. Is it likely PID ? I have no abnormal discharge or painful urination. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow but I m panicking.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you have taken the right treatment as doctor recommended you then it can't be PID. It can be a cyst and doing an abdominal ultrasound is necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
