Hello,
* As per my clinical experience, the abdomen pain with pale yellow stool and obstructed bile duct a year back, indicates extension of the underlying pathology to greater extent.
Many possible issues do present with this as
-
liver problems with intrahepatic ducts
- compression or narrowing of extra hepatic bile ducts
- peri ampullary lesions as tumor or others compressing second part of duodenum
- sphincter of oddi dysfunction
-
pancreas problems as chronic
pancreatitis, pseudopancreatic cyst
- othres
However, in my clinic, after thorough examination, I do recommend
- complete hemogram
- serum alkaline phosphatase
- SGPT and SGOT
-
bilirubin levels
- urine and stool microscopy with bile acids level
-
ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis
- ERCP or MRCP as per the choice of clinician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
