Are Abdominal Pain, Back Pain And Nausea Related To Elevated Liver Enzymes?

I went to the ER last week for abdominal pain, back pain and nausea and vomiting. I got and abdominal X-ray series as well as CT scan of chest and abdomen for elevated d-dimer. My Liver function tests are elevated and have never been in the past. Are the two correlated? CT was negative for a PE. I have been vaccinated for hepatitis....any idea of what could possibly be going on here? They did diagnose me with an ileus.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have abdominal pain, back pain and nausea related to elevated liver enzymes . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like arthritis , disc problem , osteoarthritis ,gastritis , sciatica kidney infection or kidney stone . The symptoms can also occur due to liver swelling or elevated enzymes . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan , MRI and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and recommend physical therapy . Doctor may also recommend exercises according to your condition after proper diagnosis . Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist for abdominal pain or nephrologist for kidney problem . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and take antiemetic drug .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
