Are Adenoidectomy And Tympanostomy Safe Procedures For A Child?
ENT specialist has advised Adenoidectomy & Tympanostomy (requiring insertion of ventilating tube due to fluid in ears) surgery for my son. Child Conditions: • Age. 5 years 3 months and weight 14.5 kg high 106 cm. • Snoring at sleeping • Cough. • Physical Activity moderate. • No ear problem noticed. • No cold and fever. • Last treatment for Flue and Cold 6 months before and used antibiotic to control. No sign of frequent diseases. Only seasonal diseases noted. Is it wise to try Homeopathic medicines at this stage? What is the treatment plan, how long?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you should listen to ENT doctor. It looks like he has enlarged adenoids evaluated by his doctor that gives him snoring, chronic cough and maybe difficulty in breathing since he is not too active. Also this situation is causing an impaired growth and development as he is underweight, shorter than average. Also tympanostomy for chronic eustachian tube blockage.
I think follow your doctor's advice and don't lose time.
Take care.
Best regards.
