Are Antibiotics For UTI And Kidney Infection The Same?

I think that I may have a kidney infrction. I have a UTI which has been verified but I await the resukts if a culture to determine which antibiotic would be best. Just took a round of septra two weeks ago and not better. I had a very bad reaction to a elox in the quinilone family and I am allergic to penicillin. Kidney infection is actually a UTI. UTI (Urinary tract infection) may be infection of the kidney (pyelonephritis) or the urinary bladder (cystitis).

The choice of the antibiotic depends upon the causative bacteria and its sensitivity to the antibiotic, regardless the site of infection.

Best wishes, and get well soon.
