Are Black Eyes Normal After Falling Down?

Sure, I fell the other night and hit my head and my nose due to my glasses on my face. I have skin and nasal abrasions on my nose and forehead but not much pain and I do not feel my nose is broken. I did have a good knot around my left eyebrow. But, my eyes are so black that I look like a raccoon. They look horrible. Is that normal?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having black eyes following falling down.
Black eyes are because of ecchymosis if eye luds as a result of collection of blood in the layers of skin if eyelids.
This is commonly seen in inuries to the face above the level of the eye brow. This is a self resolving condition and will get resolved over 1-2 weeks. If there is no injury to the eye no need to worry and this condition will resolve by itself.
Application of cold compression provide symptomatic relief.

Thank you
