Are Black Spots In Breast Signs Of Paget S Disease?
One year ago I had breast cancer. Just recently I have been getting pain in my back, neck and down my right arm. This week I had x-rays and then a body scan. After the scan I was sent back to have a pelvic xray. I was told it was to rule out pagets disease. My scans have numerous black spots. If these spots are not pagets could they be bone cancer.? As I cannot see my doctor until next week I am a bit anxious. Thank you
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Typical X-ray images of your bones in case of Paget's disease may show areas of bone reabsorption, enlargement of the bone and deformities. These may appear as dark spots on image. Also with a past history of breast cancer which is an osteophilic cancer, bone metastasis is common and may give similar images. From your description, conclusions can not be drawn yet.I will suggest you see your Doctor for evaluation.A simple blood test like alkaline phosphatase may help to confirm diagnosis of Paget's disease if elevated. However, the best imaging technique will be a CT scan. Hope this will help Best regards
