General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Blood in stool is not from the megestrol acetate. However, given your history of weight loss and blood in stools, it is concerning for pathologies of GI tract, most importantly neoplasm.

So, please be advised to follow up with your primary provider. Clinical evaluation, CT abdomen, Colonoscopy may all be needed at this point depending on your current situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal,
