Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening. I have never had high blood pressure in my life. I am a 46 year old female. Heart disease does run in my family. My father died of a massive heart attach at the age of 49, but he was on high blood pressure medicine for years. I am under some tremendous stress right now so I had my blood pressure checked. It is 150 over 88. I have been feeling a little dizzy for the last couple of days (just a little) and I have mild chest pains but I love chocolate and I have acid reflux and I am assuming those chest pains are from the acid reflux. Should i make an appointment asap to see my doctor or just try to stay calm for a few days?
Thanks for contacting HCM. Dear patient your dizziness is due to high blood pressure. Even chest pain could be because of high blood pressure. With family history of heart disease you are obviously at a high risk for heart disease. please get in touch with your doctor and get some tests like BP check up, E.C.G., TMT test and cardiac colour doppler done to rule out cardiac involvement and get correct treatment for high blood pressure. remember heart attacks usually present with chest pain, also in females acidity and reflux may be a sign of heart problem. Regards
